Review summary

Based on recent reviews

Guests consistently praise the hotel's luxurious features, such as the spacious two-floor suites with floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking Arabian Gulf views and complimentary Hermes amenities. The afternoon tea at the Sky View Bar, 200 meters above sea level, appears to be a highlight, particularly the "Gold Emotion" drink and King Crab Tartelettes. Breakfast at Bab Al Yam, with its outdoor setting and international buffet, is another commonly enjoyed experience, and the convenient buggies facilitate travel around the property; however, some have found the lobby décor a bit dated. The option to use the facilities even after check-out and the Abra boat tour for unique hotel views add to the overall positive experience.

Service Lapses at a Well-Known Hotel

unclear minibar charges outdated tv system

I found some aspects of the service questionable for a hotel in this category. The minibar charges were unclear. I thought water was complimentary, but it looked on the bill. The TV system is not modern. I expected a smart TV with streaming capabilities. The turn-down service felt rushed and missed small details.

an lovely stay!

welcome water amazing furniture attentive staff

to the wahou effect when the door opened and i saw my 2 storey room. the hermes toiletries were a special treat. the duvet was fluffy and there was a mirror on the ceiling above the bed... the furniture is both different and amazing! the breakfast was delicious. The selection not huge, but each item was of top quality and the premises lovely. the pool and beach were both enjoyable and the staff was very attentive. free entry to wild wadi was a plus.

the style is a bit much? i'm not sure i loved the decor but it's such a small thing.

great view freshly made food reduced amenities wall scratches

the staff were amazing , they even upgraded our room. the room was really big and had a great view of the sea on one side. this was for my 25th anniversary , the food was all freshly made.

for example , they opted for a single complimentary drink between 17:00 and 20:30. my room was also in less than ideal condition , i noticed scratches on walls.

Check-in felt quite demanding. I was also surprised that only two welcome drinks were initially provided for our party of three. We had to wait longer for the third drink to arrive. The luggage unpacking service was offered but then never delivered.

Acceptable stay with room for improvement.

personalized service seamless experience thoughtful touch cancelled reservation missing refund ignored calls

The butler service took really good care of us. They personalized everything. Victoria at the front desk ensured a smooth and seamless experience from the very beginning. Claudia from Guest Relations greeted us the day after our arrival.

The hotel charged in advance for a restaurant set menu. They then cancelled the reservation with no reason. They refused to refund the amount. They ignored all calls and emails after that.

excellent breakfast friendly staff clean premises tourist crowds exclusivity absence tired look

i really enjoyed the excellent breakfast they had available. the staff was always very friendly and polite, a real plus. i also noticed the premises were clean, which i always appreciate.

Unfortunately, there were some tourists waiting for lifts. That was annoying. i also found many people paying a day rate, not staying at the hotel. It felt less exclusive. the hotel looks a little tired, honestly.
